Basic Materials – Grade 1

The basic materials for students consists of a four-volume reading and writing course for printing, a book with swinging exercises in the DIN A3 format as well as a three-volume reading and writing course for cursive writing.

The reading and writing course für printing includes: analysis and synthesis in conjunction with music and movement, learning how to read using syllables, and pictures depicting speech movements, thus supporting the process of learning how to read.

The book of "Swinging Exercises" in the DIN A3 format serves as preparation for the Course in Cursive Writing. It enhances the development of the motoric writing and leads to acquiring a balanced handwriting.

In the subsequent Cursive Writing Course, cursive writing is introduced in a most detailed way and the respective repertoire of words is practiced in various ways on practice pages.

The big Myrtel for the classroom comes in a plush egg and is the main character in the Magic Forest. With the help of the "Treasue Chest Book", the introduction of each new letter becomes a group experience.

In the detailed Teachers' Manual, valuable didactic tips for each week are to be found as well as an extensive appendix with numerous colored depictions. It is also especially suited for teachers giving lessons in a subject other than their own as well as for beginning teachers.

In addition to the Swinging Exercises there is a Teachers' Manual with observation focuses and ideas for creating pictures.
The songs accompanying the Swinging Exercises are composed in such a way to provide an acoustic background for the swinging movements so that the children can optically display the melody through their movements.
